By utilizing the light and airy characteristics of Korean paper and using the Jiseung craft technique,
 I have completed durable household item.
Jisueng  Box : Hanji (Korean paper). 200X200X94mm
Jiseung Craft is a traditional Korean craft technique that originated from the time when paper was precious, when scholars cut and twisted books that they had finished studying, and made various artifacts by weaving them into single and double strings.
I made a box that can be used in everyday life by utilizing beautiful and unique but not very well-known techniques of jiseung craft. 
Each of them consisted of four small boxes with different patterns and one large box to hold the boxes. 
A handle is attached to the lid of the small box to add design elements, and it is made practical so that it is easy to take out.
Jisueng Octagonal Box for keeping Jokduri : Hanji (Korean paper). 150X150X150mm
It's an octagonal box made with Jiseung.
'Jiseung' refers to a paper string made by cutting long a piece of Korean paper made with a unique Korean technique and twisting it together. 
On the outer surface of the box, a pattern of the turtle shell was wooven to enhance the decorativeness.

This handbag is made with Jiseung.

This handbag has a soft natural texture and elegance.
The fastening was made with white jade, and the handbag's string was also made by knotting it by hand.
Made of Korean paper, it is light and strong.

This briefcase is made with Jiseung.
'Jiseung' refers to a paper string made by cutting long a piece of Korean paper made with a unique Korean technique and twisting it together. 
A traditional Korean knot was attached to the side of the bag to enhance decorativeness, and an inner pocket was added to enhance practicality.
The back of the bag is woven with a rhombus pattern in a prominent way to enhance the decorativeness.
Made of Korean paper, it is light and strong.

The natural texture gives you a comfortable feeling.
White jade decoration was added to the string for fastening to enhance decorativeness.

Jisueng Korean chamber pot : Hanji (Korean paper) 260X260X210mm
It's a work that reproduces the relics of Jiseung Korean chamber pot which is called 'Yogang' from the Joseon Dynasty.
This work is made of Jiseung, and 'Jiseung' refers to a paper string made by cutting long a piece of Korean paper made with a unique Korean technique and twisting it together. 
So it is very light and strong compared to its bulkiness.
When the women of the noble households moved long distances riding palanquin, they carried and used a light 'Jiseung Yogang'.
It was mainly lacquered for waterproofing.
